“There’s a place in the middle of the wine-dark sea called Crete, a lovely, fruitful land surrounded by the sea.”
~Homer, Odyssey

The Crete Writing Workshop is an opportunity to study writing with an emphasis on food, culture and the environment in one of the world’s most inspiring settings, the island of Crete. Known for its dramatic landscapes, pristine beaches and beautiful blue waters, Crete is a repository of history, traditional folk life, cuisine and music and literature. It long has been an inspiration to writers. Of his time in Crete, Henry Miller wrote, “I was a little nearer to the stars.”
Program dates: June 17-27, 2011.
